Artist Julia McKenzie draws her inspiration from the lost stories of the coast. Her studio is like a treasure chest full of seaside goodies. The walls of her studio are filled with beautiful seaside prints; rock pool in pinks, blues and browns. She has pottery with seaweed and ships in amazing bottles.
Julia is a bit of a beachcomber, for years she would travel with her family from London to their caravan at the coast to see what they could find on the shore.
In one of her prints ' Sea of Billows', is a collection of sea urchins, shells and barnacles, stones and bones. She said ' once you start to look, the treasure appears everywhere'.
