It is at that time of year again when snowdrops are out in bloom, and these are the best places to see displays of the little wintery flower in February.
These destinations are a fun and colourful day out for all the family, and close to any of our holiday homes in Lincolnshire.
Doddington Hall
The Wild Gardens at Doddington Hall near Lincoln are full of snowdrops. The first Snowdrop Sunday for 2016 falls on Valentine’s Day, a romantic trip out among some stunning flowers. As well as snowdrops, there will be pink cyclamen, coloured crocus and bright yellow daffodils.
The gardens at Doddington Hall are open on Sundays only until Easter. Open from 10am to 4.30pm, admission is at £6.50 per adult and open the rest of the week until 5pm.
Hackthorn Hall
A stroll through the estate at Hackthorn Hall could be in order as you take in the snowdrop display on Valentine’s Day, as well as a stop off for afternoon tea.
This event is open from 1pm to 5pm on February 14.
Charity events
A variety of private and public gardens will be open to the public to show their snowdrop displays across February while raising cash for the National Gardens Scheme. Little Ponton Hall in Grantham, Ashfield House in Lincoln and Chapel Street in Hacconby will be some of the places taking in visitors to show their stunning display of winter to spring flowers.
