This is a park that offers exceptional on site facilities - including a pool, a newly refurbished Bar & Restaurant run by local restaurateurs - Moss & Co. It’s also next door to a marina, making it a great starting point for exploring The Broads by boat. In fact, this Oulton Broad location has been called the ‘gateway to the National Park that is The Broads’.

This is an ideal place for a holiday home, it’s fantastically well appointed and safe for children, not to mention that it’s family - and dog-friendly. It’s almost like a village in its own right. And it’s surrounded by so much to do and visit.

2. Lots to explore nearby in Southwold and beyond

The nearby town of Southwold is justifiably famous for its charm and tranquillity. It’s the quintessentially Suffolk coastal town. There are great places to eat, glorious galleries, super shops including lovely independent retailers, the famous lighthouse and, of course, there’s Adnams. The renowned brewery is synonymous with Southwold. You can hike along the beautiful beach or amble along the high street. Either way you’ll be captivated by the magic of Southwold’s famous appeal.

Take a look at Visit Suffolk for a great visitor guide. And while you’re browsing check out The Tourist Trail too.

You’ll find loads of ideas and inspiration for making the most of Suffolk. It’s a county of historic houses, secluded countryside and great sweeps of seaside. It has galleries and workshops, bakeries and food shops. There is history here and there is everything you want for today here.

3. Enjoy culture and history, perfect for a holiday home location

If you started with Southwold you’ll definitely want to move on to some of Suffolk’s other delights. There’s Aldeburgh of course, this is a town with a huge and rich cultural life and history. It’s home to the Aldeburgh Literary Festival and it’s forever linked to the world famous composer Benjamin Britten and his music. It’s a great place of contrasts.

The beautiful beach is a wonderfully, typically, Suffolk beach. It’s ideal for strolling and skimming stones, but it’s also the location for Maggi Hambling’s inspiring ‘Scallop’ sculpture. The town has its art galleries and museum, but it’s also, most definitely, a traditional Suffolk seaside town.

Check out Aldeburgh Fish and Chip Shop. Enough said?

4. Experience nature and the joy of the outdoors in Suffolk

Suffolk is a county full of natural wonders and nature at its best. We’re all more aware now of not just nature itself but the fact that we have so much to see on our own doorsteps. A UK holiday home gives you the chance to explore, and the time to do it. And you’ll feel better for it. We know that too now.  For masses of ideas and information check out Suffolk Wildlife Trust.

Today, there is an abundance of activities and attractions to experience in the central region of Suffolk. Such as cycling, walking, or horseback riding are widely favored methods of exploration in the rural areas. Within this picturesque terrain, one can find the esteemed Suffolk Coast and Heaths as well as the Dedham Vale, both recognized as Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Engaging in a leisurely stroll through the Suffolk Coast and Heaths AONB is an especially delightful pursuit, offering the optimal means to relish the breathtaking scenery.

5. Experience exciting events - such as first light festival in lowestoft

First Light Festival is the place to start. Click on the link below and check out all the details for this year’s First Light Festival. This is Suffolk setting out its stall as the vibrant cultural, fun place it is.

The festival’s ‘Welcome to Lowestoft Opening Parade’ on June 17 sets the tone from the outset. The UK’s most easterly town really goes to town with giant puppets, music and community involvement.

From there on the Festival is a full on mix of styles and performances. Soak up the definitely danceable grooves of rising stars Jembaa Grove and immerse yourselves in the work of sell out star of the spoken word Joelle Taylor.

When it comes to the spoken word go see the legend that is Linton Kwesi Johnson.

In wonderful contrast to a solo speaker you can have the thrill of hearing 100 voices in a song cycle that celebrates an inspirational part of Lowestoft’s history; ‘The Herring Girls: Greater Than We Are Alone’ is a must.

Get involved - the Mary Poppins Dance-Along makes the Moon Dance Tent an essential visit. Chill with Sunset Ibiza Flow Yoga. This is a festival for everyone. Take in new acts, see stars, and sculpture, and performances of every genre you can imagine.

There are legendary performers here, as well as rising stars, and it all happens where the sun rises first. In the east.
